Other Services & Facilities
The CAAAPU facility is unique in that it provides 24-7 care to clients, and has partnerships with other inter-agencies, health services and community groups to provide integrated solutions for Aboriginal communities.
The CAAAPU smoking ceremony is a healing ceremony which is delivered on residence. This is a unique spiritual protocol to assist Indigenous people with healing and recognises the cultural strengths of the communities.
The facility has a gym and recreational centre for clients to use, to practice healthy living and fitness activities. Trainers are bought in to work with the clients, for advice on fitness programs, and physical education.
CAAAPU has a vegetable garden and regular horticulture activities for clients to learn about nutrition for the prevention of disease. Horticulture specialists assist with the development of plantations, and maintenance of the garden, which is then used for cooking at the residence. Nutrition and exercise is a key mix to assist our clients with leading sober and healthy lives.
